Adult Neuro Rehab

Gait & Balance Rehabilitation.

Walking is confidence. When steps become unsteady — after a neurological condition, a fall, or gradual decline — people move less, and moving less makes everything weaker.

Walking is confidence. When steps become unsteady — after a neurological condition, a fall, or gradual decline — people move less, and moving less makes everything weaker. Gait and balance rehabilitation retrains safe, efficient walking and rebuilds the confidence to keep moving.

Impact

How it may affect daily function

  • Unsteady walking, shortened steps or a widened stance
  • Fear of falling that limits activity and independence
  • Difficulty on stairs, slopes, turns or uneven ground
  • Reduced walking distance and community mobility
Timing

When rehabilitation may be considered

An assessment is worth considering after any fall or near-fall, when walking has visibly changed, or when fear of falling is limiting daily life. Gait work is also a core part of rehabilitation after stroke, Parkinson’s, GBS and other neurological conditions.

How assessment works

Assessment begins with your reports and a preliminary call, followed — where appropriate — by a video consultation, and then a detailed in-person evaluation of movement, function and goals. The programme proposal, care model and estimate follow from these findings.

Programme

Possible rehabilitation components

Actual components are selected at assessment — this list shows what a programme may draw from.

  • Video-informed gait assessment and goal setting
  • Task-specific walking practice — distance, speed, turns, stairs and outdoor surfaces
  • Balance training from static standing through dynamic challenges
  • Strengthening of key muscle groups for stance and stepping
  • Walking-aid assessment and training where appropriate
Care Models

Inpatient, day-care and outpatient options

Residential

Inpatient rehabilitation

Structured stay-in gait & balance rehabilitation with daily therapy and caregiver involvement — often considered when intensive input or travel from another city makes daily visits impractical.

Day Programme

Day-care rehabilitation

Several therapy sessions in a single visit, returning home the same day — a middle path between admission and standard visits.

Visit-Based

Outpatient rehabilitation

Scheduled sessions for patients living in or near Gurugram, or continuing a programme after an inpatient stay.

The appropriate care model is discussed after assessment — please do not feel you must choose one before speaking with the team. Learn about care & programs.

Caregiver participation

Families are part of the rehabilitation team at Neuranta. Caregivers are shown how to support safe movement, daily activities and home practice, and progress is discussed with the family at regular reviews. For inpatient stays, caregiver requirements are discussed during admission planning.

How progress is reviewed

Goals are set at assessment and reviewed at regular intervals with the patient and family. Reviews look at functional change — mobility, self-care, communication, participation — and the programme is adjusted accordingly. Progress differs from person to person, and no particular outcome is promised.

Coming From Another City?

Send recent medical reports and a short video of current mobility or communication, with your consent, before planning any travel.

Step 2

Preliminary call & video consultation

Our team reviews the reports, calls you to understand goals, and arranges a video consultation where appropriate.

Step 3

Plan the visit

If an in-person assessment is advised, we help you plan travel, documents, caregiver needs and nearby accommodation options.

FAQ

Common questions

Do you prescribe walking aids?
Where an aid improves safety or independence, the team advises on the appropriate type and trains its correct use — the goal is the least restrictive option that is genuinely safe.
Can older adults benefit from balance training?
Balance training is commonly recommended for older adults with instability or fall history; suitability is confirmed at assessment.
How is progress measured?
Through functional measures agreed at assessment — for example walking distance, speed, stair safety or outdoor confidence — reviewed with the patient and family.
